Wow, time sure does fly! Over the past few months lots of things have happened and obviously I haven't had much time to post new things here. I got married last month and am now 3 weeks away from graduation! This semester has been the longest and in my opinion, hardest yet and I will be thrilled when it is over! I have neglected my shop as well and as a result, have not sold much. I had a couple of custom orders and felt horrible about how long it took me to get them completed! I try to get things done fairly quickly but those took weeks to complete! I finally decided that over these next few weeks, I could not take anymore custom orders and I will not be able to post new things in my shop either, mainly because I haven't even had the time to make anything new lately. I am really disappointed about not being able to have "Christmasy" things ready now and in my shop, I have made some really cute snowmen! Oh well, maybe next year!

I went to the PO today and sent the orders that I have gotten over the past few days, including some of the octopus beads from the pic below. I have been listing the others that she didn't buy in my shop tonight. I think I'll try and get some of the Halloween ones listed tonight as well and then if I have time (and the energy) I will try and make some more this evening now that the weather is a bit cooler....all the way down to 94 today! :(

Here are the octopus beads that I have been working on. I am really happy with the way they turned out. I have a mish mash other beads that I just finished cleaning tonight and have not had time to take pictues of but maybe tomorrow I will. I have everything from frogs to Halloween beads to snowmen! Funny how my brain works sometimes! :)

Doesn't it just figure that just about the time things start picking up for me in my etsy shop, I will have to start back to school and probably won't have much time for bead making for a while?! I had my 20th (and 21st!) sale today; one from a repeat customer and one from a new customer! It is always so exciting to sell something, I still find it amazing that people are willing to give me money for something that I make and have so much fun at. I wish sometimes that I could figure out a way for this to be my full time job....then again, maybe not. I really do enjoy being a nurse most of the time, it's just that lampwork is so much less stressful! Other than the occasional upset over a bead that breaks, or a glass being out of stock when I want it...or being WAY to expensive to even consider buying, there really isn't any stress involved. Really I guess that is what it has become to me is a sort of a stress release, and it serves it's purpose well. Alright, enough ranting tonight, off for some more stress release! :)

I have added my etsy mini to the page at the right to give a better idea of what type of work I do. I have been working on some new things here lately. Coral the green eyed octopus bead sold and will be on his way to Malta sometime next week, in the meantime I am making more octopus beads to send along with him as a custom order. It is always exciting when someone contacts me for something specific, it shows that they have confidence in my work. I have had more sales in the past few weeks than I have had in a while and it is all very exciting!

Here is a froggie that I listed in my etsy store last week, I named her Ruby http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=6599073 I don't think I've given much background about myself here on this blog but I will today. I am a 26y/o female who began lampworking about 3 years ago, just after I finished LPN school. For the past 2 years I have been taking classes toward my RN and will begin my final semster in about 2 more weeks. I am planning to get married in early October to a man that I have been with for over 8 years now, together we have for bunnies, Bob J., Bugs, Gizmo, and Smokey. Due to the fact that working full time and being in a nursing program seems to take up a lot of my time, things may slack off some in my store and here on the blog, I will do my best to keep up, just don't be surprised if it takes on more of a "day in the life of a nursing student" feel than a blog devoted to lampwork! :)
I made several other froggies this week who are in the kiln as I type and may be listed in my shop as early as tomorrow. I also made a few focals that I was really pleased with so look for those soon as well!

I have been working on a new set of big hole beads to list in my etsy store when I get time and I think I finally finished them tonight! Look for them to be listed soon. I only have about 3 weeks left before I start back to school for my last semester of RN school and I am dreading it every day. I am ready for it to be over already! Well, off to go make more beads...I'm also working on some more froggies! :)

Well, I just listed Coral the octopus (bead) on my etsy site. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=6529967I have had him for quite some time so it was qutie a difficult decison to part with him. I have been trying to sort through some of the beads that I have laying around and have over two pounds to donate to Beads of Courage. This is a wonderful program that uses beads to commemorate milestones in treatment for children with serious illnesses. This will be my first donation (the first of many I hope) and I am trying to decide if I should wait until the box is full, or go ahead and send them now. I'll problably wait a bit longer since I keep finding more to add. For more info on Beads of Courage, check out their site at http://www.beadsofcourage.net/
